Stephanie Slocum has been part of the Virginia Tech community since 2014 and recently stepped into the role of Academic and Outreach Program Coordinator for FST. She works closely with faculty, students, and Extension specialists—serving as Graduate Program Coordinator, supporting undergraduate programs, coordinating events, and helping the department run smoothly behind the scenes.
Previously, Stephanie spent eight years in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Academic Programs, where she managed admissions for the Agricultural Technology Program, oversaw finances for multiple units, coordinated events, and supported marketing for the Agricultural Technology program and other college initiatives. During her time at Virginia Tech, she earned two degrees, most recently a Master of Natural Resources in December 2024 which reflects her desire and dedication to advance sustainable, community-centered change in natural resources, global sustainability, and agriculture. She also volunteers with a justice enterprise, where she applies her academic training and program support experience to initiatives that create meaningful, real-world impact.
